Lest anyone forget how important it is to find a good waxing place, I am bringing good news for New Yorkers! Genius, L.A.-based waxing expert Paz Stark (we rave about her Silver Lake waxing studio in the October issue) has just opened the doors to her first NYC shop at Sally Hershberger Face Place.
The services are simple--just waxing, no add-ons like "a shower of glitter thrown at your bikini area after a Brazilian," which actually happened to someone at an unnamed waxing studio in L.A. This person is now a loyal Starkite, with good reason: The studio relies on extremely gentle hard blue wax imported from France, and post-waxed areas are treated with a soothing blend of peppermint and lavender (if you want). The NYC launch also corresponds perfectly with the creation of a new candle, Palm Frond, a spicy blend of cilantro, grass, and lime, a perfect scent for the slowly fading summer.
