Marc Jacobs: Fashion Week Scorecard
The Scene: A small crop of celebrities--Alexa Chung, Courtney Love, and Rachel Zoe among them--and the usual fashion flock were seated circling an enormous Richard Serra-like gilded structure from which the models appeared in groups.
The Look: With the exception of a few Asian-inspired numbers and a couple of puffy voluminous pieces, the look was a decidedly '70s mix of Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver by way of Yves Saint Laurent muse Loulou de la Falaise and Bianca Jagger circa Studio 54. Marc wove a palette of colors like strawberry, grape, peach, and chocolate into super-sexy, languid clothes including flowy printed chiffon dresses and jumpsuits, curve-hugging zigzag knits, an assortment of shiny satin suiting, enormous orchid chokers and hair clips, and huge straw hats with uptipped brims. Glitter platforms, strappy heels, and all sorts of small clutches finished the outfits.
What We Loved: The strapless chiffon gowns, the peasant top/long skirt combination, and THE ACCESSORIES!
