Madewell's Dispatch from D.C.

Throughout the month of October, Lucky editors are crisscrossing the country with Madewell on their annual Denim Roadtrip. This week, the Madewell team is guest blogging for Lucky Right Now.

We're racking up the miles on our Denim Roadtrip with Lucky (odometer check: 2,908 miles and counting), and the latest stop is our nation's capital. Stop by Madewell Tysons Corner tonight from 6 to 8 pm and get styled by Lucky's lovely and talented Elise Loehnen. Before or after you come say hi, consider hitting up some of our favorite D.C. spots. Here's our short list:

Eastern Market

225 Seventh St. SE, easternmarket-dc.org

It's the District's oldest continually operating public market, and we love it for its weekend farmers' market, Sunday flea market, and amazing food vendors, including the not-to-be-missed Market Lunch (trust us, they have the best crab-cake sandwich ever, ever, ever).

International Spy Museum

800 F St. NW, 202-393-7798,spymuseum.org

We never tire of the cloak-and-dagger appeal of this highly interactive espionage-themed museum. You can even challenge yourself to GPS-guided Spy in the City missions that take you all over the city in search of clues.

Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall

1776 D St. NW, 202-628-4780,dar.org

Culture and epic music combined! Catching a show at this majestic, column-flanked hall is a truly historic experience, and this month alone, the Hall is hosting Drake, Guster, Versus, and Belle and Sebastian.

Annie Creamcheese

3279 M St. NW, 202-298-5555,anniecreamcheese.com

Decked out with sputnik-shaped ceiling lamps and jam-packed with organized-by-color racks, this basement-level Georgetown spot has a huge array of vintage finds from the 1940s through the '80s.

Kafe Leopold

3318 M St. NW, 202-965-6005,kafeleopolds.com

Located in a scenic, plant-filled courtyard right off Georgetown's M Street, this low-key, high-design European-flavored spot is an essential stop for brunch or an afternoon espresso--don't miss the insanely good pastries.

Good Stuff Eatery

303 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, 202-543-8222,goodstuffeatery.com

Top Chefalum Spike Mendelsohn's lively Capitol Hill shake-and-burger joint is always our first stop off the train at Union Station (yessss, Toasted Marshmallow Shake ...).

And heads-up, D.C.: Madewell's opening in Georgetown next month. Stop by 1237 Wisconsin Ave. NW starting November 16.
