Seventies Denim: 21 Days of Resolutions
When it comes to jeans, I have always been intimidated by a wider leg. About 90 percent of my yearly denim wardrobe is unapologetically tapered, tight and ankle-grazing. However, this spring's batch of 70s-inspired flares have got me thinking: new year, new season...new pants? The free-spirited, flower-child feel of the silhouettes is nostalgic yet totally modern--I think I might be a convert. Here are the options that are making me hang up my precious jeggings and switch teams for good.

2. Vince Eclipse flare jeans, $195, piperlime.com. Fading on the thighs and a light wash makes these perfect for a casual weekend look.

3. Charlie flare jeans, $129, luckybrand.com. Simple, dark bell bottoms are like a blank canvas, easy to dress up or down.
4. ASOS patch-pocket high-waisted flares, $60.34, us.asos.com. I love the outside pockets and contrast stitching on this pair--it's all about the details!

6. Textile Elizabeth And James, $250, net-a-porter.com. The distressed touches on this pair make it feel like a treasured vintage find.
Do you end up wearing the same type of jeans every day? What do you do to get out of a denim rut?
