Paris Fashion Week Scorecard: Thierry Mugler

The Vibe: Lady Gaga was the star of this show for a reason: Many of the latex and sheer looks were only suitable for the stage at Madison Square Garden. The first collection designed by Gaga's stylist, Nicola Formichetti, drew inspiration from Mugler's classic shapes with a focus on the female form that is sure to get buzz, but wearable? Not so much.

The Accessories:
Towering platforms that only Gaga could fully master on the runway.

What We Loved: The black jacket that opened the show is a nod to Mr. Mugler and would go easily with a cute little skirt or a pair of jeans.

Style Sound Bite: Creative Director Meredith German of accessories line Meredith Wendell

Meredith German and her husband Wendell are the creative minds behind accessories line Meredith Wendell. I love how unique and quirky her bags are, yet they aren't priced out of this stratosphere (bags start at $500).

Style Sound Bite: Norma Kamali

Norma Kamali walked us through her fall/winter collection and it didn't take much before I was handing over my credit card. From the classic jersey bathing suits in 1950s pinup silhouettes to her sleeping bag coats, I was sold. She has been in business since 1967 and is embracing the Internet age whole-heartedly, even encouraging her salespeople to Skype with customers.

Mad Hatter

Let's face it, dressing a boy just isn't as much fun as dressing a girl. Dressing my daughter is pure, unadulterated girliness all the time, in the form of tutus, dresses, hair accessories, you name it. When my son came along I was flummoxed. After the first few months of onesies and pajamas, it was time to start putting some real clothes on him, and other than jeans and some layered tees, I'm stumped.
