Badass Beauty Tips from Shannen Doherty

There are definitely times in my life where I wish I were...a little tougher-seeming. That's not to say that I'm not tough (just try using a proper noun in Scrabble against me. Ha!), but I don't think people see me on the street and think--that girl's got a hard edge! The pale skin and flat-footed gait make me seem about as rough-and-tumble as a sparrow: Today, someone tried to push past me through the subway doors, but when I got to work, I saw something by the printer. The heavens opened up. There it was: Badass: A Hard-Earned Guide to Living Life with Style and (the Right) Attitude , by Shannen Doherty.

So, Shannen Doherty has WRITTEN A BOOK. And it's GENIUS. It's a bit of an autobiography, peppered with advice, and it includes such gems (in no particular order) as: a copy of a letter from George Bush thanking Shannen for leading the Pledge of Allegiance at the Republican National Convention (this happened?); the following words, "HELLO? Are you tired of biting your tongue? Are you tired of settling for second best? Are you tired of sitting on the sidelines of life? Guess what? Badasses AREN'T"; photos from the set of Charmed ; a list of badass pets (German shepherds are #1!); the most badass themes for a game of charades (Robert Altman movies); and--wait for it--BEAUTY TIPS! According to Doherty, "badass" lipsticks include MAC Russian RedandRevlon Blackberry. Furthermore, a "badass gal" keeps mascara, lipstick, deodorant, perfume, tweezers, hairspray, lint brush and a comb in her glove compartment (not so coincidentally, there is a page on getting out of a speeding ticket). I was hoping for skin and hair tips, but all it says is "pay attention to hair and nails."

Hopefully, though, the sum of her wisdom will do me some good when negotiating my rent or sending back food without getting it spit on. Or feuding with my fellow90210 cast members.

Levi's Warholian Fall Presentation

Seriously, there's nothing (nothing, nothing, nothing) that I love more than a room full of people wearing Levi's. At last night's Levi's fall presentation it wasn't just the models--pretty much the entire crowd paid an homage to the brand. The models--and the clothing--served as their own art installations. There was even a dude in a bathtub!

As our deputy digital editor Steph Trongso eloquently tweeted, "There is something Warholian about these in-situ displays at the Levi's event." And I think she's right--Wooster St. did sort of feel like The Factory. Our favorite pieces: striped sweaters over plaid shirts (side note: plaid. Another trend we won't let die), floral Henleys, fitted army vests and of course SKINNY JEANS.

Miu Miu Launches E-Commerce Site on April 6

This just in: Miu Miu is set to launch e-commerce on April 6. Start saving your pennies (or depleting your kids' 529 plans--only kidding!), because it's ON.

Miu Miu, Prada's adorable and often irreverent little sister, has always been one of my favorites, whether it's the quirky patterns or covetable accessories. Who could forget the naked ladies cavorting on blouses and dresses alike in the spring 2010 collection? Or the ubiquitous star motif in the spring 2011 collection? I love, love, love Miu Miu. The site will also offer exclusive key looks from Miu Miu's Paris runway, a top zoom function that helps simulate a live shopping experience, and a newsletter for special online-only products, events and brand initiatives. Miu Miu, you're a little late, but welcome to the party. My credit card is very happy to meet you.

Get The Look For Less: Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst is the queen of casual downtown-cool. She looks amazing on the red carpet, often donning gowns by her pals Laura and Kate Mulleavy (behind cult label Rodarte), and looks equally amazing strolling around L.A. in a cute skirt, white tank top and no-name sandals. She is the ultimate combination of quirky youth and effortless style and we love her for it. She shows us how to beat this spring-less weather in style with a timeless topper--the trench coat.
