Resort 2012 Trend: Garden Party
Florals are always popular in resort collections. Makes sense; by the time these collections roll around, we’re ready to say buh-bye to black, navy, camel and grey and all the other dark winter staples we’ve been wearing since the first hint of cold, and eager to embrace some vivid, spring-y prints. But this batch of florals was more than just the usual scattering of blossoms; they were super-saturated, as though designers wanted to see just how many flowers they could pack onto a single garment! Not that we’re complaining; we love a good print, and in the hands of a master, more is more. Our favorites were at Celine, where Phoebe Philo deftly paired a button down with a slim pant and stark white pumps to dazzling effect.
