Best Dressed at the VMAs

Beyonce Knowles

Beyonce’s pregnancy news almost outshined her tangerine, one-shouldered, crepe Lanvin gown and Rene Caovilla ivory platform heels with Swarovski crystal and pearl details. But not quite.

Selena Gomez

Selena wore a black lace gown by British designer Julian McDonald. The dress was mini in the front and had a train in the back (others have referred to this trend as a mullet-dress...we’ll just giggle and appreciate the apt description).

Adele kept that 1950s thing goin’ with her teased ‘do and black embroidered lace dress from LA-based designer Barbara Tfank (famous for dressing Mrs. O).

Zoe Saldana

Zoe rarely takes a misstep on the red carpet and last night was no different. We love that she chose under-the-radar French designer Barbara Bui, who is as rock ‘n roll cool as it gets. Her “Samurai” dress was braided leather and metal (whoa), topped off with water snake platform sandals by the same designer. Two thumbs up.

The VMAs were a bit lacking when it came to best dressed—too much Jersey Shore inspiration, if you ask us. Thankfully, there were a few stars whose fashion choices shined. Click through to view our faves!
