Genius Gift: Just Because it's Mini Doesn't Mean it Can't Get You Toasted

It’s no secret that the Lucky halls have been a little bit, well, buzzed lately. Not that we’re secretly sneaking 40s during lunch hour; it’s just that summer’s long, warm days (and one of our September features) got us thinking about icy concoctions and happy hour. In any case, the veritable floodgates have been uncorked and the spirits just keep on flowing--some of them straight to my desk. This week, a lovely package from the Tasting Room landed in my little nook (someone knows the way to a fashion editor’s heart). And while I generally tend to avoid mixing work with pleasure booze, this particular alcoholic incarnation was just so cute. The parcel includes six 50 ml bottles of red and white wines from the Napa Valley. Six MINI bottles. And really, when did anything mini ever cause any damage?
The set is like an entire comprehensive wine-tasting class packaged into one fancy little cardboard box. Except, this tasting session is sans the gross medieval-looking spit goblet thing, so you kinda end up actually swallowing your fair share of vino. And really, sampling six mini bottles is the equivalent of downing…umm, I don’t know, I lost count somewhere between the 2009 Sauvignon Blanc and the 2006 Cabernet.

In any case, there’s a lot of fun to be had in these adorable parcels. And they certainly make for one classy gift—with the capacity to get you just the right amount of tipsy.
