Sample Sale Lowdown: Alexander Wang
Even though we arose extra-early this morning to visit the Alexander Wang preview sale, the cobblestone street outside the designer’s Soho headquarters was packed tight by the time we got there, with fashion editors and stylish it-girls browsing to the booming beats of Lady Gaga. We immediately began sifting through racks of ready-to-wear ($60-$260), well-stocked with everything from woolen pleated shorts to sheer printed blouses. Multiple pieces of amazing outerwear caught our eye--reddish brown trenches, denim jackets with metallic detail, cropped khaki anoraks--all perfect for transitioning into fall. Numerous bins filled the center of the room with seemingly inexhaustible piles of those wonderfully soft pieces from the designer's T collection ($35-$100) while a queue of full length mirrors lined the back of the room for quick try-ons . After scooping up some basic T-shirts and the most amazing fitted boyfriend blazer we hung by the door and ogled our fellow shoppers’ outfits. Click here to see some of the best street style we spotted this morning. If you stop by, let us know what you score!
