Milan Fashion Week 2012: White Out at Jil Sander
The Scene: Midway through Milan Fashion Week editors excitedly gather for the Jil Sander Spring 2012 show.
The Look: '50s housewife gone Mod. Monochromatic looks in clean tailored silhouettes showcased the sophistication of Raf Simons' aesthetic. White was a prevalent theme throughout the entire collection, punctuated with pastel gingham, demure paisleys and abstract art knits. Peek-a-boo skirts made more than one appearance, under crochet dresses and sheer silk slips: proof that the trend will endure well into next summer.
The Pieces We Want: A full flirty white skirt that hits just above the ankles looks utterly modern against a cropped sleeve sweater with a boldly printed face. We'd wear this ensemble just as it was shown on the runway, with pointy-toe pumps and slicked back hair. Why mess with perfection?
