NYFW Spring 2012: Cynthia Rowley Doesn't Shy Away from Drama
Cynthia Rowley's gold set blew us away, and it was a good thing because her show was the last one after a long day. Rowley is never one to be subtle, and this collection didn't disappoint. Rowley is a fixture on the gallery scene, and it's easy to see the artistry in her designs. The show opened with a silk tuxedo look with abstract floral patterns. She played with patterns, often juxtaposing one bold graphic pattern next to another equally bold floral motif. Some of the dresses had detail that almost looked like a neon harness, proving last season's fetish fever lives on. Our favorites were the 50s-style dresses cinched at the waist with lots of volume in the skirts, perfect for dancing the night away. Click through for the entire show.
