NYFW Spring 2012: Boy. and Girl. by Band of Outsiders Pick Prairie Over Preppy

The Scene: Plenty of cool kids, from Tavi to Solange Knowles. Even Glee's Ryan Murphy. (LA-based designer Scott Sternberg is really into musicals.)

The Look: Less preppy than usual. In fact, the whole thing was very prairie. We were particularly taken with the ombré toile and surprising black leather accents in a few of the Boy looks. Girl, the contemporary collection, kept on its etheral track. A pale lavender pajama dress caught our eye.

What We Want to Buy: This season's Boy off-white suspender skirt (we love that Sternberg's been able to keep this stable style fresh for nearly five years) and about seven Girl dresses to layer under our collection of Boy blazers.
