NYFW Spring 2012: Herve Leger's Sexed Up Golden Age
The Venue: The Theater, the largest runway in the tents at Lincoln Center.
The Scene: A front row of Hervé Leger clad Hollywood celebs of the female persuasion: Aisha Tyler, Taraji P. Henson, Ashlee Simpson in a Gossip Girl sandwich between Jessica Szohr and Katie Cassidy, Selita Ebanks and Michael Michelle. Hung actor Thomas Jane represented for the guys and caused a bit of a kerfuffle during the show.
The Look: There was whole lotta sexy going on in Hervé Leger by Max Azria’s literal interpretation of "Golden Age of Americana." We’re talking brilliant metallic foil fabrics, and accents of shining quills, buffed gold seed beading and gleaming silver plating. The signature bandage dresses went architecturally tribal with ikat prints, macramé-embellishment, braiding detail, revealing slashes and cut-outs (hi, again) and peplum-skirting.
The Pieces We Want: The just sexy-enough rose gold dresses—especially the delicately pleated and fringed frock with the silvery accents.
