In a race against the weather, the Lucky team rushed to the Prabal Gurung show, mostly umbrella-less. We took shelter from the random sunshowers in the lobby with the rest of the fashion set—and quite a few celebrities, including Amanda Seyfried and Nicki Minaj—to see what Gurung had in store for us.

As one might expect, the show inside was far better than the inclement weather outside. After his fall tour-de-force and a collection for J.Crew, Gurung followed up this spring with a collection so beautiful, several attendees actually cried.... I won't lie, I may have gotten a little misty. To be frank, it was a perfect procession of details, workmanship and skill. All the designer's hallmarks were present, including an astute understanding of color (shades upon shades of violet) and a keen eye for detail—matte sequins, feathers, embroideries and beading.

What to look out for when it hits stores? A white drop waist dress, melted metallics and a gown that creates the illusion of the wearer walking on flowers. 

And what could be the perfect ending to a perfect show? One after-party we won't soon be forgetting. Well done, Mr. Gurung.
