NYFW Spring 2012: Under the Boardwalk With Tory Burch
Before the Tory Burch show started, waves crashed from the speakers of Alice Tully Hall. For a split-second, I considered high-tailing it out of there for one last trip to the beach. Before I could figure out my travel plans, the show began.
If the ocean waves weren't enough of a clue, the collection was. It was everything you'd hope for in your summer clothes, perfect for strolling along a boardwalk. There were drop waist '20s dresses, nostalgic sailor details, wavy prints and of course, plenty of aggressive (but lovely) pattern mixing. It was Slim Aarons meets David Hicks meets the L.I.E. for the weekend and it was all undeniably Tory Burch. The show closed out with three easy-elegant gowns, quite a way to finish her first runway show.
