NYFW Spring 2012: Eclectic Inspirations Make for Neon Skulls at Dannijo
The Venue: The swanktastic members-only Soho House Library.
The Scene: Man Repeller Leandra Medine, photographer Lyle Owerko, whose black and white portraits lined the walls of the presentation, and curmudgeonly Bowery legend (and soon to be Travel Channel host) Billy Leroy of Billy’s Antiques. Jazz pianist ELEW rocked his rendition of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” while wearing custom-designed Dannijo cuffs.
The Look: As one half of the sister design team Danielle Snyder explained, “Our inspiration for this season was Indonesian surf culture and Mark Rothko’s paintings and also the Day of the Dead”. That totally explained the bib necklace composed of neon skulls, the antique Asian coin and coral ribbon bracelet, and the pop-art bright satin and chain link cuffs.
The Pieces We Want: The crayon-hued stingray bangles to layer or mix and match.
