All You Need to Shop eBay's Pop-Up Shop is a Smart Phone
You don't need a computer to shop eBay anymore.
Starting today, the online marketplace is opening a series of pop-up "inspiration" shops on Park Avenue South in New York City. Not your traditional brick-and-mortars, these "boutiques" consist of store windows filled with covetable items and scannable codes. Customers, after downloading the eBay app, can use their smart phone to immediately shop similar items.
Despite eBay's association with antique bidding wars, the majority of the site's product is now actually fixed price (62 percent) and/or new (70 percent). We have equal love for the e-tailers auction feature and its addition of a digital outlet mall. The more ways to shop, the better.
What do you think of eBay's new promotions? Do you like the push for "Buy it Now" merchandise or do you prefer the thrill of the hunt? Let us know in the comments below! [WWD]
