Craving Carven Sunnies For Spring

The round, tinted spectacles from Carven's Spring 2012 show last week couldn't have been a cooler complement to the brand's collared shirts and cut-out dresses.

Unsurprisingly, what started as a few standout pieces on the runway has grown into a flow blown collection, available next season.

The French it-label is partnering with L'Amy Group (the same company that makes frames for Proenza Schouler, Chloé and Kenzo) to produce 12 styles of eyeglasses and 13 styles of sunglasses. The line will run between $165-$235, which is pretty affordable when you consider what some other contemporary labels charge. Plus, each pair is distinguished by a popular Parisian name from the '50s (such as Marthe, Yvonne, Marceline, Odette and Rosalie) and comes in an array of covetable colors (electric blue, amber, tortoise and white horn).

We haven't even seen the entire collection yet, but we're already picking what sounds best: "We'll have the Odette sunglasses in electric blue, please!" What do you guys think? Are a pair of Carven sunnies a must for Spring 2012? [WWD]
