The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is Coming to H&M
Fans of international bestselling novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo now have more than a big screen adaption to look forward to. The costume designer for the film, Trish Summerville, has teamed up with H&M to create a collection based on heroine Lisbeth Salander's style.
Inspired by actual outfits from the movie, Summerville has taken onscreen looks and adapted them for the brand's Divided line. “We put a lot of aged-in washes and finishes, which goes along the lines of the Salander character. In the film, her clothes are quite extreme. They’re really worn down, they’re dirty,” she told WWD. “So for us, it was taking that kind of concept and giving it more of a realistic fashion feel.”
Tthe pieces are extremely affordable: prices start at $3.95 (tribal earrings) and top out at $199 (a leather jacket that comes in washed black and deep burgundy). Worn in lace-up boots ($59.95) and gritty hoodies ($29.95) also make an appearance in the line, first available at Colette in Paris on November 28.
No need to book a quick trip to France, though: everything lands stateside on Dec 14, just before the picture hits theaters. What do you think of the doubly Swedish collaboration? Are you suddenly craving T-shirts and leather?
