Rachel Zoe's Spring 2012 Collection is Bananas Amazing
Yesterday morning, I swung by publicity firm Starworks' SoHo office to preview the company's new spring collections. Surveying the racks, there was no denying that even among industry fixtures like Vivienne Westwood and Temperley London, A-list stylist Rachel Zoe now holds her own in the heavily competitive design arena.
Full disclosure: I happen to be a Team Zoe diehard. During the season finale of her series The Rachel Zoe Project on Tuesday night, I actually got weepy when the stylist delivered an emotional toast to her employees at the episode's end. And though I'm by no means a "baby person," the mere sight of Skyler Morrison Berman, Rach & Rodg's little bundle of joy, makes me grin like an idiot—as do the occasional shots of his custom-made Gucci bomber jackets and Tod's driving mocs.
Even given my obsession, it's undeniable that Rachel has a hit on her hands with her ready-to-wear collection. It's chock-full of the 1970s-inspired silhouettes she's made her calling card, including bow-tie blouses, maxiskirts and a neat khaki trench.
Zoe's also expanded her accessories offerings beyond classic pumps and gladiator sandals—now, there's a full line of handbags that range in size and shape. And though ballet flats might seem like an item the celeb stylist would never be caught dead in herself, she's rolled out a snakeskin iteration of the classic ballerina that's finished with gold chain. I. Die.
