10 Versace for H&M Items Worth Waiting in Line For
Tomorrow morning, Versace's highly-anticipated collection for H&M launches in select US stores. If you are new to these lower priced designer collaborations, a warning: things can (and WILL) get crazy. Doors open at 8 a.m., but customers looking for a good selection will probably starting queueing up around 4 a.m. (Twilight fans, time it just right and you can go straight from your midnight viewing!).
Before you write off the entire endeavor as too much work, remember that this IS a bonafide Donatella-designed collection and prices start at only $20. We've actually seen the clothes up close, after a long, crowded trial of our own (though we DID get to see Prince in the process), and can attest that they are worth the wait.
Since you'll have to act fast—hesitate once and that quilted jacket you're considering will be gone—we've narrowed the selection down to ten must-buy items. Click through the slideshow for our top picks!
Although this is technically part of the men's collection, you'll definitely want to grab it for yourself (or steal it from your boyfriend). The slouchy menswear fit offsets the vivid pink color, making it sleek and cool rather than girly. We'd wear it over a fitted black tee and stovepipe denim or with leather leggings, a silky button-down and patent stilettos.
Don't let the wild print throw you off! These are surprisingly easy to wear: the pattern does all the work. Simply add suede ankle booties and a black knit turtleneck for instant chic.
Another piece we're "borrowing" from the boys. This statement bracelet is bold enough to stand on its own, but it also works with a armful of delicate gold bangles.
Love the clothes but they just aren't your style? You can still partake in the decadant fun with this colorful printed bedspread.
A badass bomber that works with everything from flowy chiffon skirts to cropped skinny pants. In other words: a must.
Yes, we know the lookbook shows this jacket as part of a head-to-toe matching look. But for everyday it works just fine with a high-waisted A-line skirt and featherweight tee.
These heels are reminiscent of Maison Martin Margiela's sexy cut-out shoes, but they're much more affordable. And since black patent leather's seasonless, you can wear these all year and at any time of day.
Next spring, trade your faded denim jacket for this cute little cropped one. Throw it over solid colored sundresses and high-waisted shorts.
This is the type of rock star dress we picture one of the Charlie's Angels girls wearing during a big entrance. You know, in slow motion with their hair blowing in the wind? We can't guarantee this dress will get you on television, but you'll sure look like you belong there.
This is the exact dress that Sofia Coppola wore to the Versace for H&M fashion show. Enough said.
