Gaga's Workshop is Officially Open at Barneys New York

Lady Gaga cuts the ribbon.

Last night, as I approached Barneys New York on Madison Ave, I could hear "Marry the Night" blasting from all corners of the famed department store. Of course, that was just a taste of what waited on the fifth floor, henceforth known as, "Gaga's Workshop." For the past several weeks, it's been sealed off for construction but as of right now, it's open for business.

The elevator ride up to the mysterious floor was pretty chatty—everybody on edge to see exactly what this was all about. The doors opened and I immediately bumped into two of our favorite bloggers, Bryan and Wendy:

Wendy Lam of Nitrolicious and Bryan of Bryanboy with some Gaga candy.

We checked out a bunch of the Gaga-centric product and I think Bryan ended up buying the Gaga nails, which are pretty crazy. Anyway, somebody handed me a basket and I shopped my way around the vignettes with Leandra the Man Repeller:

We rubbed elbows with the likes of Brad Goreski, Prabal Gurung, Blake Lively (I showed her—okay, her assistant/publicist—how to use a bouncy ball) and of course Lady Gaga, who brought her sister. What a good sibling:

As one might expect, she drew quite the crowd and was dressed as...well, as Lady Gaga would dress. Gaga floated around the room in a voluminous custom Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel, as fans flocked for photo-opps.

So, what can one expect to buy? Pretty much anything—there's a candy shop with cookies, there are Schott manufactured leather jackets, leather bound classic novels, Erickson Beamon jewelry and Pamela Love cuffs, studded (over-the-eyes, naturally) sunglasses, studded gloves, snow globes, bouncy balls (they light up! my favorite) yo yos (my second favorite) and what Gaga's Workshop would be complete without stuffed little monsters?

The feel-good bonus: 25 percent of all sales will go to Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation which aims to boost self-confidence, end bullying and promote positive change for young people.

In six weeks Gaga's Workshop will be but a memory on Madison, so get to the store or shop the site while you still can! Some of our favorite trinkets are below, but there's plenty more to shop from on Barneys.com.
