Winning women stole the show last night at the British Fashion Awards. Amongst the female recipients (who outnumbered their male contemporaries by nine to four) were Alexa Chung, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham.
WWD reports that V.Becks cried when she received her Best Designer Brand award. "I’m sorry, I’m so rubbish," she exclaimed before pulling herself together and thanking her husband. "Without David, I would never have had the courage to do what I did."
Alexander McQueen successor Sarah Burton took home the an even higher honor, Designer of the Year. Of course, given the stunning dress she created in total secrecy for Kate and Will's wedding, who could be a better choice?
