DKNY Spring 2012 Takes a Trip to Haiti

Yes, Haiti's the backdrop for Donna Karan's new Spring 2012 ads. But it was also the inspiration for her spring collection.
Brooding Adriana Lima slinks around in prints mirroring Haitian artist Philipe Dodard's work: geometric, aggressive, punctuated. Around her neck hangs horn jewelry from local artists, which echoes the prints' tone.
Adriana probably could've modeled the spring collection anywhere and we'd still get the Haitian flavor. But there's something to be said about authenticity, right?
