Even Elle Fanning's Outfits in We Bought a Zoo are Good

With a closet full of vintage letter jackets and Rodarte from the runway, Elle Fanning is a seriously amazing dresser. People like to get all angry about the fashion industry modelizing teenage actresses, but when Kirsten Dunst and I were both 13, I thought she was unreasonably hip without even trying. Same with Claire Danes. So it's not a new thing.

Anyway, like Kirsten and Claire and Winona Ryderbefore her, Elle looks better than everyone else in every movie she does. Of course she was perfect in Sofia Coppola's Somewhere, outfitted by Marc by Marc and APC. But in her latest film, Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo, she still manages to look way cooler than anyone else while wearing '70s style Fair Isle sweaters and denim jackets.

The whole look—floral button downs, black cherry lip stain, braids—is actually very Rodarte for Opening Ceremony. And while it's not the only reason to go see the movie (especially if you have a soft spot for Cameron Crowe and want to watch Matt Damon reject Scarlett Johansson repeatedly), it's definitely a nice surprise.

So there it is: I have a style crush on Elle Fanning. She's 13! And I will never be as cool as her, even though I'm more than twice her age! Get inspired by my makeshift collage of Elle's We Bought a Zoo wardrobe and shop my similarly styled picks below.
