K. Flay's Top Five Kicks
The rising hip-hop star has a serious weakness for sneakers.
K. Flay’s music is anything but ordinary, and appropriately so, as the musician herself is an impressive mix of witty brains and serious beats. With a dual degree in psychology and sociology from Stanford University, it goes without saying that K. Flay is one smart girl. Yet rather than choosing to go corporate, she's channeling her intelligence into a very unexpected career path: hip-hop artist.
K. Flay’s self-produced release Eyes Shut (coming in early 2012), is sure to feature tracks that are just as clever and rhythmically awesome as what we've heard from her so far (check out her mixtape I Stopped Caring in ’96). Her sound melds classic hip-hop beats and rapid-fire lyrics with guitar chords and her own "special something." The formula seems to be working: She's already shared shared the stage with prominent artists including Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and 3OH!3.
But let's get back to shopping: Lucky got the Nike-aholic to share her top five favorite sneakers, from metallic to sheepskin.
#1 - Nike Dunk 6.0 Hi Top "I love monochromatic sneakers. The laces on these are just a liiiiitle bit neon, which is perfect. Plus they keep me safe when I'm riding my bike."
For a similar look, Lucky recommends J75 by JUMP Women's Fender-W2 Sneaker.
#5 Nike Dunk 6.0 Hi Top "A SHEEP WENT BALD FOR THESE SHOES IS THAT NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?"
For a similar look, Lucky recommends Honey Hi sheepskin sneaker by Adidas
