Mega Monday Madness: Actual Fights in the Saks Fifth Avenue Shoe Department
Saks Fifth Avenue's Mega Monday shoe sale nearly caused a riot yesterday.
New York Daily News reports that the frenzied crowd who showed up for the store's 60 percent footwear discount panicked when they learned the sale wouldn't extend past noon.
“The line wrapped around the floor,” one shopper revealed to the newspaper. “There were too many people. They were pushing and shoving. It was a zoo.”
A PA announcement, declaring prices would rise to 40 percent after 12 PM, caused actual scuffles to break out. (Security was able to stop the madness before anyone was hurt.)
We're usually game to stand in line at some crazy sample sale or product launch (don't even get us started on that Versace x H&M wait), but actual fist fighting for heels is out of control. For bruise-free bargain hunting, check out Saks' online discounts, like these Prada mary janes or Elizabeth and James loafers. Sizes are going fast, so get shopping before yesterday's rough bunch swipes them all up.
How far would you go to score your dream shoes?
