Party Watch: Celebrating Rebecca Minkoff's New Timepiece for Baby-G

While she might be best known for her cultworthy Morning After bags, designer Rebecca Minkoff's been making quite a splash with her more tech-centric accessories lately. And in her newest partnership, Minkoff's teamed with Casio-owned timepiece company Baby-G to create a sleek, "downtown romantic" wristwatch. Last night, the designer invited friends and press down to The Back Room, a Prohibition-themed spot on the Lower East Side complete with a library lounge and velvet-cushioned couches. With Harley Viera-Newton on DJ duty, guests like The Glamourai's Kelly Framel and Becka Diamond mingled with tiny teacups of liquor in hand. (Yep, they serve cocktails in vintage teacups.)

"I've always worn my old-school Casio calculator watch, so I went to a Casio party with a friend, met the team, and confessed I'd been a fan for years " said Minkoff of how the project came about. "I'm a sucker for rose gold, so I knew it had to include that finish in some way. But the matte black finish makes it less bling-y."

Next up, Minkoff's heading home to Florida for the holidays, where she hopes to squeeze in a day trip to Sanibel Island for some beach time. The new mom's also looking forward to spending quality time with her three-month-old son Luca, who was on hand (if fast asleep in an infant carrier) to help celebrate during the cocktail hour. "Actually, a lot of people on my gift list just had babies, too...so I'll be buying a lot of WubbaNubs this season," she laughed.

Rebecca's Baby-G design retails for $200 and is available this month at jewelry and department stores. For more info, check out baby-g.com.
