KARL Craziness: Where You Can Buy the Kaiser's Net-a-Porter Collection and More From Yesterday's Festivities
Yesterday morning, while we were scrolling through the just-launched KARL collection on Net-a-Porter—debating between Velcro high-tops and a houndstooth dress—legions of excited fans around the globe shopped the line in person.
New York, London, Berlin, Sydney and Paris all boosted pop-ups (shoppable with the luxury e-tailer's "KARL" app) that gave out free goodie bags, T-shirts, leather gloves and sparkly collars to visitors. In France, Lagerfeld himself arrived to greet his admirers and open a giant mysterious cube of which the contents are actually still unknown to us. (If you were there, or have heard what was inside, tell us in the comments below. We're very curious.)
Although all the aforementioned window boutiques are now closed, there are still plenty of pieces available on Net-a-Porter.com (Shop everything here and see the official lookbook here.). Plus, in New York City, there will be one more fun promotion: at the same Bleecker Street location as before, another temporary storefront will open tomorrow. Customers will have a chance to browse the pieces in person before purchasing them from iPads. Orders made before 1pm guarantee same day shipping to Manhattan residents.
But before you head off to fill your closet with shimmery pants and leather bombers, check out this video of Karl Lagerfeld working a turntable while lithe models dance around in the clothes. He's actually pretty good. If he ever gets sick of running multiple fashion empires, we think the Kaiser has definite DJ potential.
Now that everything has been released, tell us: how do you feel about Karl Lagerfeld's re-launched line? Have you bought anything yet?
