Lucky Haul: Jason Wu for Target Edition

Target's Jason Wu collection hits stores—and the web—February 5, but we got a sneak preview last Thursday in New York. The makeshift shop at Manhattan's Skylight Studios resembled a Paris boutique, complete with every piece from the hyped collaboration, a Laduree macaron stand and even a little cafe serving champagne cocktails. French band Yelle's performance was the evening's top-off, but before that, Lucky went shopping. Here's what we bought. We can't wait to hear what you score on Sunday. I bought a short-sleeve, tie-front version of this blouse, which cost less than my cab fare to and from the event. It’ll be my default top whenever I need to dress a little sweeter than usual (like dinner with my boyfriend’s parents, when I never, ever seem to have to right thing to wear). But I also like the challenge of finding a way to toughen it up—maybe with a leather skirt? Either way, it’s machine washable, so I can work it into a handful of different outfits without worrying about my dry cleaning bill.

I lost my mind when I saw this dress in the ads and begged our digital team to sneak me into the shopping event! Why? The collar, the stripes, the pretty pale color combination! I wish I could wear it with socks like the model, but I will probably go more traditional and wear it with high-heeled black sandals—once the weather warms up, that is.

I live in solid t-shirt dresses during the summer. With its sheer navy panels and perfect balance of pink and red, this slightly dressier style will look preppy-but-not-too-perfect with my Salt-Water sandals.

I constantly talk about wanting to buy a bicycle so I can pedal around Hudson River Park. Realistically, though, that’s never going to happen. So I’ll just wear my new bicycle-wheel-print pleated dress while riding NYC taxis and subways—it’s almost the same thing, right?
