Lucky Listens: Charli XCX
Considering the current popularity of dance-pop artists like Robyn, Rihanna and Gaga, it's somewhat surprising more folks haven't heard of 19-year-old Londoner Charli XCX. We can't get enough of her '80s-tinged singles "Nuclear Seasons" and "Stay Away," both of which combine heavy synth and Charli's quasi-Goth sound to awesome effect.
The UK singer launched her career playing at warehouse raves, which perhaps explains her cool club-kid style sense. Charli lives in patterned tights, sequined dresses and chunky statement gems—further dramatized, of course, with her signature super-voluminous 'do.
Check out Charli XCX's video for "Nuclear Seasons" below—there are wolves (huskies?) involved!—and check out some looks she'd love in the slideshow.
Join the wolf pack, won't you?
Charli's the kind of girl who can pull off a leotard at any time of day.
These leggings were made for dancing in.
Turn around, bright eyes.
The print's totally reminiscent of the kaleidoscopic graphics in Charli's video.
This singer's got a thing for doorknocker earrings.
Awesome '80s meets Black Swan.
Charli's wild hair is a huge (pun intended) part of her image. And that takes texturizing spray. Lots and lots of texturizing spray.
