Three Awesome Hair Moments at the Oscars (and How To Do Them!)

I mean…Rose Byrne. She needs to be on every red carpet ever! She may never be able top that Elie Saab jumpsuit at the SAG Awards fashion-wise, but her hair just gets better and better. Harry Josh applied John Frieda Full Repair Style Revival on wet hair, then blow-dried it with a round brush, and then flat-ironed it just below her roots, so he didn’t kill any volume. He kept her bangs in place with John Frieda Full Repair Flyaway Tamer…which is seriously made for fancy events like this because it can fit even the tiniest, most impractical clutch.

Michelle my belle! She looks so good in red, so good in Louis Vuitton—and I’m really jealous of how good she looks with that honey-blonde pixie. Chris McMillan put Sebastian Professional Mousse Forte in wet hair and let it air dry. Then he used a small round brush and a dryer to add volume and sprayed in Wella Professionals Essential Finishing Spray.

If I were wearing nude gown, I’d look naked—plain and simple. But Kristin Wiig’s skin tone and hair color made her look so elegant and gorgeous in that J. Mendel number last night. And the feminine but slightly undone waves suited the dress perfectly. Mark Townsend used Dove Style + Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse (it looks like a whipped cream bottle! Ha! How fun!), then blow-dried with a round brush (and if you don’t know it by now, a round brush seems to be the essential for pretty much all these glamorous looks). Then he sprayed in Dove Style + Care Thermal Replenishment Spray for heat protection and wrapped the hair around a 1.5 inch FHI Heat Curling Iron. A little bit of Dove Style + Care Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum throughout kept the curls intact and shiny, and little hairspray set it all in place for what turned out to be…of course…a super-long show.
