Cute Valentine's Day Outfits
Three easy options that don’t look calculated or costumey.
For a casual date (think movies, a concert, anywhere that heels and a high hemline seem too try-hard) go for something discreetly sexy, like a top with a subtle back slit. Then pair it with low-key accessories and faded denim.
In middle school, it was cool to match your braces colors to holidays, sports teams, etc. Now "theme dressing" isn't so awesome, so steer clear of anything red, pink, heart-printed or lacy on your dinner date. Instead, opt for classic black—it's pretty, not hokey.
For one of those gray-area dates—not fancy, but not sweatpants-worthy, either—reach for a cozy cable-knit sweater. It can tone down a little skirt and heels if you're worried about being overdressed. Alternatively, you can hide it in your bag if you do end up just wanting to wear the tank you've got on underneath.
