Dannijo is Launching Shoes With Matt Bernson—We Suggest They Reinterpret Their Greatest Hits
Danielle and Jodie Snyder, the sister act behind jewelry label Dannijo, are venturing into footwear. In collaboration with shoe designer Matt Bernson, who makes some of our favorite studded sandals ever, the five-piece line will launch this August at mattbernson.com, dannijo.com and shopbop.com. Prices will range from $238 to $420, or about what a piece of Dannijo jewelry generally costs.
Danielle Snyder described the capsule to WWD as "street punk neon," adding that fans can expect fringe-trimmed boots, denim accents and lots of glitter. Check out two preview styles at left—we think they match Dannijo's signature jeweled bib necklaces and tangled-chain bracelets perfectly.
To that end, here are a few other currently-available Dannijo baubles we hope the girls draw inspiration from while designing the shoes. Though we love wearing the jewels on our necks and wrists, they'd look mighty fine reinterpreted for our feet.
Whether decorating the instep or buckled around the ankle, bows always look great on toes.
We're fairly sure Dannijo collaborator Leandra Medine will ensure there's at least one mustachioed style on offer.
Whether they draw on the neon color palette or actually create miniature collars for our ankles, we hope this Peter Pan-style necklace works its way into Dannijo's footwear collection.
Stingray, or shagreen, is one of our all-time favorite footwear materials. And in this eye-popping duo of blues, we think a pair of heels would be unstoppable.
Just imagine it: chain-and-crystal ankle straps on a pointy pump. So cool.
Fringe for your feet? Yes, please! We'd love to see a cascade of chain on the front of an ankle bootie, say, or trailing from the back of a strappy heeled sandal.
