Jenni Kayne Fall 2012: Pointy Shoes, Round Sunnies and Feather Skirts

The Scene: The mahogany paneled reading room of NYC's Lamb's Club made a fitting backdrop for Kayne's "Englishman on a hunt" fall collection—no decoration or embellishment needed. (Of course, the hot apple cider passed around to editors and buyers didn't hurt that cozy, country feel, either.)
The Look: Cropped trousers, fur trapper hats and coats with leather detailing evoked the hunting theme most heavily. Other pieces were less literal, like neon silk blouses and little leather shift dresses that'd work as well in the middle of summer as they would come fall. Those warm weather friendly pieces always make sense for Kayne's brand, since she's an L.A.-based designer with a big West Coast following and pocketful of starlet friends. (And that's good for us, because we love those seasonless, versatile pieces, too.)
Stuff We Want: The feathered miniskirts, which balance an ultra-luxe texture with a practical, solid color (black or white); any of the lime green and khaki ensembles; the kooky, lighthearted accessories (vintage-looking round sunglasses, pointy-toed velvet flats).
