Kate Spade New York Fall 2012: For Smart Girls Who Enjoy the French

Fairchild Archive
The Scene: Happy, bright, familiar but not tired, the Kate Spade New York presentation is always a welcome event. One friend admitted that, even though she wasn't sure of the exact address of the show, she knew that if she walked down 26th Street, she'd be able to find it without a worry. Because in true Kate Spade style, stripes spilled out the door and on to the street.
The Vibe: As for the clothes, it was a much larger collection than usual, nearly doubling what the brand showed for Spring 2012. ("Double the pleasure, double the fun," was certainly true in this circumstance.) It was a fitting follow-up to spring, with a nice mix of "fancy" and "casual" pieces, all styled by Brad Goreski (a match we think was made in heaven).
But Mr. Goreski wasn't the only star to partner up with creative director Deborah Lloyd this season: a collaboration with street style photog Garance Doré included an adorable sweatshirt and a signature print.
Pieces We Want: A t-shirt that says, "Pardon my French." And anything Garance Doré.
