Katie Ermilio Fall 2012: From Ladies Who Lunch to Girls Who Brunch
Every fashion week brings with it a queue of new designers hoping to draw real attention. Two years ago, Katie Ermilio—a former Vogue intern who decided to follow in her tailor father's footsteps and make clothes instead of magazines—was one of those newbies. Ermilio may still be on the cusp, but her fashion is anything but amateur.
The suiting is always impeccably tailored. For Fall 2012, we particularly loved the menswear inspired wool coats, one in double-faced grey cashmere. The cocktail styles will please an array of clients, from the Upper East Side woman—who might prefer the custom print black and white dress—to the young intellectual, bound to gravitate toward a teal crop top with off-the-shoulder bow sleeves. (The matching pencil skirt is peppered with little black bows.)
And then there's the white blouse tattooed with a trompe-l'oeil bra top. (Just subversive enough.) We're equally as obsessed with the young designer's sheer nude tights, sprinkled with swiss dots in black or teal...and a little K on the back of the ankle, just to remind you where they came from.
