Levi's Fall 2012: A Show That Made Us Want To Get Dressed In The Morning
The Scene: When I say this show made us want to get dressed, I mean it quite literally. Models entered the runway in their underwear and got dressed from head to toe before they walked. As a sidenote, it turns out that a Levi's event is a very good place to meet straight boys that dress really well. I'm just saying.
The Look: Levi's women's design director—the very lovely Jill Guenza—gave me the lowdown on the collection's inspiration. "We really wanted to bring to life this feminine point of view for the women's brand. It's taking the idea of femininity and bringing a nice tailored, polished look to it. There are traditional pieces in the collection, but they're sort of turned on their head through the use of fluid, drapey fabric. We used details like single-needle stiching, darting, piping and covered buttons to bring the feminine tailored look to life."
The Pieces We Want: I'd gladly wear the entire collection, but I am afraid I can't live without the denim jacket at left.
