Last night's Academy Awards saw a handful of our favorite stars branching out with more daring looks (capes! orange ruffles!), while others kept it classic. And interestingly, both the risk takers and the traditionalists wound up on our best-dressed countdown, proving that when it comes to the red carpet, it truly is all about the mix.

Gwyneth, can you do no wrong?! The gorgeous Goop-ette wore what we felt was the best look at last night's show: a snow white column, accented with a sleek cape, from Tom Ford's Fall 2012 collection.
