Five Celebs We Would Love to See at New York Fashion Week
Fall 2012 Fashion Week has officially begun, meaning us editors will be spending a good chunk of the next seven days at the Lincoln Center tents. But it's not just editors and models that storm the NYC streets when seasonal collections roll out...the weeklong style celebration's also a prime time for celeb-spotting.
We know we're sure to glimpse a Gossip Girl starlet or Kardashian sister in the days to come...but who would we really love to rub elbows with at the tents? Click through the slideshow to find out.
WHY: The extraordinarily talented Oscar nominee has had a banner year—and been embraced by the fashion industry with open arms.
WHICH SHOWS: Rooney's worn looks by Prabal Gurung and Rodarte during her Girl With a Dragon Tattoo press tour, so we wouldn't be surprised if she attended their presentations.
WHY: A favorite of our Style Editor Ray Siegel's, the "Super Bass" superstar's colorful wardrobe and personality make her a front-row natural. Plus, we hear she's got her own fashion line in the works, so Nicki might be looking to do some industry networking this week.
WHICH SHOWS: Anything wild n' crazy—think Jeremy Scott or Betsey Johnson. Then again, she popped up at Carolina Herrera last season (at left), so we suppose anything's possible.
WHY: From her Gallic, gamine-chic wardrobe to her beautifully moody film repertoire, the woman's basically flawless. Executive Digital Editor Lauren and I worship the ground Sofia walks on.
WHICH SHOWS: Sofia's buddy-buddy with both Marc Jacobs and Anna Sui, so we're betting she'll pop up in their front rows.
WHY: We love this lady, but after last month's SNL debacle and her album's mixed reviews, her public image could use a little boost. Lana's famously sweet to her fans, and a little mingling with fashion folk could get her back on top.
WHICH SHOWS: Prabal Gurung—her single "Video Games" played at his Spring 2012 show, after all.
WHY: Do we really need to offer a reason?
WHICH SHOWS: Duckie Brown, Thom Browne and Michael Kors.
