NAHM Fall 2012: Wallpaper Florals That Aren't for Wallflowers
The Scene: For their third season as a creative team, Nary Manivong and Alexandria Hilfiger polished up their act. Not only did the duo present plenty of mix-and-match-ready patterned separates prime for workday wear, but everything looked beautifully finished. In an amusing play on the camouflage concept, the olive-and-wine floral that appeared on many pieces was also splashed on the presentation's backdrop.
The Look: Building on the idea of wallpaper florals, Manivong and Hilfiger showed plenty of the classic print on silk shirtdresses, chiffon button-ups and flowing pants. There was also a playful Egyptian print of pharaohs and sphinxes on select looks—far more wearable than it sounds, we promise. And the matching floral platforms with mirrored soles, a collaboration with Loeffler Randall, pretty much stole the whole show.
Pieces We Want: The mint lace sweatshirt, the navy velvet diamond-patterned party dress…and seriously, those shoes. Just look at 'em.
