Original Penguin Launches A Women's Line (It's Really Cute)
Original Penguin, the American label established in 1955, just showed its first contemporary women's collection. The line's got a cute, midcentury feel and filled with all of the things we want to wear everyday: Collared dresses, mint green, bright florals, stripes...I can keep going! As far as taking the preppy-1950s-playful-boyish look and making it modern—they nailed it.
Since I must give props where props are due: The perfect styling was done by my personal style inspiration, the lovely Miss Michelle Reneau. And the set design, which very much added to the fun feel of this presentation, was by Blow Up! girls Kristin Eddington and Claire Roudabush. The collection is set to launch at the end of August.
