Rodarte to Design Ballet Costumes, Again

Though Kate and Laura Mulleavy make their living and designs for Rodarte in California, they're anything but removed from the world's culture scene. Many may remember that they designed the costumes for the affecting Black Swan and they've previously worked with choreographer Benjamin Millepied and composer Nico Muhly on the ballet One Thing Leads to Another. At this very moment, they're working on a project with Frank Gehry for a production of Don Giovanni for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Today, the girls add yet another jewel to their crown of achievements: they'll be joining Muhly and Millepied once more to design the costumes for a world premeire ballet this spring. The ballet and the costumes will premeire for the New York City Ballet's 2012 Spring Gala on May 10, 2012. With this many creative minds on one project, one can rest assured we'll see something beautiful on stage.
