Lenny Kravitz Designed Some TOMS Covered in Scribbles of His Lyrics
He may play the envelope-pushing, possibly pyromanic Panem fashion stylist Cinna in The Hunger Games, but in real life, Lenny Kravitz clearly favors far more wearable, less-flammable items. Case in point? The musician played guest designer for TOMS' Spring 2012 footwear collection, putting his own rock n' roll stamp on founder Blake Mycoskie's charitable slip-ons.
According to AP, Kravitz' daughter Zoe, an actress and budding style savante (and TOMS fan, apparently), urged him to take on the creative role. Among Kravitz's tasks as guest designer? Dreaming up fun patterns to help update the canvas shoes. The pair he's wearing at right, for instance, are scribbled with lyrics from his song "Let Love Rule," and you can buy them now for $54 on Toms.com. And this summer, the singer said that he'd like to join Mycoskie on a TOMS "shoe drop" just before the second leg of his world tour kicks off (and presumably before Catching Fire begins filming). Now that's dedication to the cause.
Check out a few other styles Kravitz helped design below.
