Louise Gray Is Designing a Line For Topshop This Summer: Your Wardrobe Is About to Get Really, Really Cool
Next August, Topshop will be releasing a capsule collection by Louise Gray, a Scottish designer known for creations that often incorporate nontraditional materials and wild patterns. No product shots or campaign images have been revealed yet but, according to The Telegraph, we can expect "simple shapes in her signature style with color and texture."
"My idea behind the collaboration was to design for the Topshop girl a range that was young and fun, similar to both the fashion and makeup I wear already" she told the newspaper. "My mainline collections have always been about pushing optimism, color and fun. I want her to experiment with the product, be daring and have fun with it."
Although we love any sort of partnership between a high-end designer and mass retailer, some of our all-time favorite collaborations have been from Topshop. Since the chain is London-based and chooses to spotlight labels lesser known on this side of the pond—like Richard Nicoll and Mary Katrantzou—the pieces are often a few steps ahead of American trends, which gives our wardrobes a very cool, in-the-know feeling. We can't wait to see what Gray cooks up but, if it's anything like Katrantzou's range of lower-priced Fabergé egg dresses, we're sure it'll be awesome.
