Things to Wear to a Cinco De Mayo Party

Drinking margaritas bigger than your handbag while inhaling slightly stale chips at bad Tex Mex restaurants is an especially likely fate for Cinco de Mayo this year.

The holiday—which is not Mexican Independence Day, just in case you were wondering—falls on a Saturday in 2012, so be prepared with our piñata of things to wear. (They might not be authentically, traditionally Mexican, but they seem it, and people will be drinking tequila or at least cerveza anyway.)

You can't make this stuff up.

A good voluminous top to offset very teeny denim cutoffs.

In case longer dresses are more your thing.

The pom pom trim makes them more festive.

Since it's still cold in some parts of this country, even though it's May.
