Chloé Is Planning a 60-Year Retrospective Exhibit

As if there weren't enough tug-at-the-heartstring reasons to visit Paris in autumn—sipping café crème while strolling into Colette, eating macarons while watching the Fashion Week street style in the Jardin Tuileres—Chloé's now adding another one to the list.

From September 29 through November 18, the French label will celebrate its 60th birthday with an exhibit at Paris' Palais de Tokyo. Unlike Chanel's tightly focused Little Black Jacket exhibit, "Chloé. Attitudes" will span the line's entire oeuvre, clustering sketches, photos, clothing and accessories by signature styles.

Watching how our Fashion News Director Jen Ford describes the typical Chloé girl, we'd bet those unifying themes will include flowing silk and chiffon fabrics, sandy color palettes and ultra-feminine bow details and scalloped trims. But while that's just a (very) educated guess, we do know the exhibit will include seventy pieces of clothing from the archives, as well as never-before-seen drawings and photography, like the snaps below:

No doubt Chloé is one of the most comfortable high fashion lines to lounge around in.

What, did you forget Karl designed somewhere other than Chanel?

If this were Fashion Pictionary, it would take all of .03 seconds for me to shout "Chloé!"

The women who started it all. I want her coat.

Thankfully, those who can't make it to Paris to tour the exhibit have another opportunity to get nostalgic over the Chloé charm.

Starting February 2013, the label will reissue sixteen of its most iconic pieces from a range of the line's designers, including Phoebe Philo's "Paddington" bag and Stella McCartney's pineapple t-shirt.

Of course, if you can't wait that long, you could always shop the currently available Chloé pieces below (each of which are marked down at least 50 percent off on Netaporter.com's amazing sale, and would certainly be "iconic" in many a closet, including mine.)
