Confirmed: Maison Martin Margiela x H&M Is Happening Next November
There was some speculation yesterday about whether Maison Martin Margiela would be doing a collaboration with H&M or not—and this morning, the rumors were confirmed. On November 15, the French fashion house will debut a capsule line with the Swedish retailer.
As we mentioned in yesterday's post, this partnership is a very unexpected mix of two opposing design viewpoints. While the mega-chain is all about popular styles at affordable prices, MMM is more conceptual and doesn't pay attention to passing trends. Both parties, however, are positive that this won't affect their collab.
"We are very happy to present Maison Martin Margiela pieces with H&M, offering a new interpretation of our vision," Margiela reps said in a press release. "The democracy of our fashion has always been at the center of our creativity, and the collaboration with H&M allows us to push this instinct further. We will bring together the contrasting universes of the two houses in ways that will surprise all."
Much like the mysterious cult brand itself, there is a lot of secrecy surrounding the upcoming collection thus far. No photographs have been released, nor details of what we can expect. All we have to show you right now is a 38-second promotional video featuring someone sketching a sweater for the range. It's just a rough drawing, so it's kind of hard to predict what the final product will look like—but still, we like what we see and are itching for more. Check it out below and watch this space for further information.
