In my yet-to-be-written style guide, I'll put Emma Stone's dress at last night's The Amazing Spider-Man premiere next to the "Sneaky Attention-Stealing Outfits" headline.

High-neck, long-sleeve, knee-length: one on hand the dress hits every bullet on the Grandma or First Lady formal fashion check list.

Still, the conservatively cut, chocolate brown Rochas dress packs a little punch in that giant taffeta skirt. It's almost ironically poofy, mimicking Molly Ringwald in an '80s prom movie, rather than Michelle Obama at a public appearance. 

Worn with non-serious glitter pumps, the slightly cheeky outfit made Emma the focal point of the night—eclipsing even boyfriend Andrew Garfield, the Spider-Man movie franchise's new star. And the best part? It didn't even look like she was trying that hard.
